DRIVER HITS AND RUNS BUT WITNESS SEES FROM WINDOW | HOW A WITNESS CAN HELP YOUR CAR ACCIDENT CASE 👀 (VIDEO)

There are a lot of bad drivers on the road out there. One of the worst of all are “Hit and Run” drivers.

When this happens, unless there is a serious injury or death involved, most Police departments will not pursue finding the hit and run driver. In big cities like Houston, Dallas and San Antonio these kinds of car accidents happen all the time and so the Police department’s do not have enough Officers to pursue all of the cases. And even if they did, finding a hit and run driver is very difficult.

ONE OF THE BEST WAYS TO WIN A HIT AND RUN CAR ACCIDENT CASE IS TO HAVE A WITNESS OR WITNESSES THAT SAW THE ACCIDENT HAPPEN.

I have a previous case where the witness saved the day in a hit and run accident.

The accident victim was in his car parked on the side of the street when a box truck hit his drivers side door and mirror and then fled the scene. The accident victim was reasonably shaken up and was not able to react soon enough so the box truck got away. However, there was a witness who worked for the District Clerk’s office who was looking out of her window at the time the accident and wrote down the license plate.

Having a credible witness like the witness above is extremely helpful, but there is still more that needs to be done before you win your case. The first step is finding out who owns the vehicle. The second step is finding out if they have auto insurance on their vehicle. If its determined the at fault driver has insurance, you need to file a claim against their insurance. Once that happens, the insurance company will begin their investigation by reviewing any evidence you have like the witness statement and talking to their insured. In the case I was working on, we found out the at fault driver worked for a company. After reporting the accident to the company the company gave us their insurance. A couple months later the insurance company finally took responsibility for the accident.

In some cases the at fault driver claims they were never in a car accident and the damage was from something else. If this happens, it is possible the insurance company denies the claim and makes you or a Law Firm file a lawsuit against them.
